Several Cutting Loose Salon team members ventured to Hollywood, FL for The Intercoiffure Spring Symposium.  Intercoiffure is a powerful organization in the hair dressing industry, and Cutting Loose Salon Owner Coral Pleas currently is Secretary of the board.

Intercoiffure’s Spring Symposium includes superior education, thrilling hair shows, and a stylist competition for the Nouveau Group entitled “Drop it like it’s Haute”.  This year, Stylist Kori Reusser and Designer Stylist Emily Parris were awarded 3rd place! Travis Scheuer, Coral Pleas, and Taelor Scheuer accept the award for Young Business of the Year

Coral Pleas, Founder of Cutting Loose Salon and Taelor Scheuer, Managing Partner of Cutting Loose Salon were both recently recognized by the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce Small Business Awards. The mother (Coral Pleas) and daughter (Taelor Scheuer) team each won one of the seven award categories. Cutting Loose Salon was named “Young Business of the Year,” and Scheuer was named “Young Professional of the Year.” This year’s award ceremony was the 23^rd Annual and the awards were presented on May 10.

“This means more than anyone could imagine”, says Scheuer. “To be honored with the Young Professional of the Year in my hometown is a dream come true. My passion has always been to exceed the expectations of each and every guest, to continue to grow the business and to be an active part of this wonderful community. I hope this inspires other young people to follow their dreams and not let anything hold them back. “

The Cutting Loose Stylists collaborated with esteemed photographer Tom Carson, fashion sensation Wicked Threads Wardrobe Styling, and the Bumble and Bumble Be.Creative House at the historic Church Street Station in Orlando, FL to transform the pin-up glamour representative of the 1930′s era.

Incorporating modern styling techniques, the Cutting Loose team strived to enhance the vintage pin curl and finger wave trends that are quintessential 1930′s hair fashion made popular by movie starlets like Joan Crawford, Jean Harlow, Rita Hayworth, and Veronica Lake. These reigning Hollywood beauties were sexy in a more traditional sense, and their iconic hairstyles were their crown and glory.

Immersed in the remarkable Church Street Station in downtown Orlando, the Cutting Loose artists channeled the location’s architecture and ambiance to recreate the vintage styles.
